Description: We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Labor Construction Worker to join our construction team. As a General Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting in various construction activities, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Your physical stamina, ability to follow instructions, and willingness to perform a variety of tasks will be essential in contributing to the successful completion of construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and preparation of construction sites, including clearing debris, digging trenches, and erecting temporary structures.

  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are properly organized and readily accessible to the construction team.

  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe work environment, including sweeping, dusting, and removing hazardous materials.

  • Support skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians, plumbers) by providing assistance and following their instructions to complete various construction tasks.

  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, such as hammers, drills, saws, and measuring devices.

  • Mix and prepare construction materials, such as concrete, mortar, and grout, according to specified ratios and instructions.

  • Perform manual labor tasks, including digging trenches, lifting heavy objects, and carrying construction materials to designated areas.

  • Assist in the assembly and installation of structures, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to construction plans and specifications.

  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or injuries, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Communicate effectively with team members, reporting any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment.

  • Adhere to project schedules and deadlines, demonstrating punctuality and reliability.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.

  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work well in a team environment.

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and willingness to prioritize safety on the job.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
