Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sit-Down Forklift Driver to join our team. As a Sit-Down Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for operating a sit-down forklift to move, load, and unload materials within our facility. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to safety will be crucial in ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods.
Responsibilities:
Operate a sit-down forklift to transport and handle materials, products, and equipment within the facility.
Safely load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers using the forklift.
Pick and stage materials for production or shipping as per instructions provided.
Ensure proper and secure placement of goods in designated storage areas.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the forklift to ensure its safe and efficient operation.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or incidents.
Maintain accurate records of inventory movement, including receipts, shipments, and stock locations.
Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders or production requirements in a timely manner.
Assist with inventory counting and reconciling stock variances.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the forklift and surrounding storage areas.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for all tasks performed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid forklift operator certification and experience operating a sit-down forklift.
Proficient in operating hydraulic controls and maneuvering a forklift in tight spaces.
Good understanding of warehouse operations and material handling practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of safety regulations.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks as required.
Basic computer skills for recording inventory movements and operating warehouse management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role or industry.
Familiarity with inventory management software or warehouse management systems.
Additional forklift certifications or licenses (e.g., Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, etc.).
